Kingsgate is essentially a family business established in 1985 with decades of experience in the field of traditional and classic English upholstered furniture.
Our products have a world-wide demand and our main markets (apart from the UK) are Europe, USA, Dubai, Italy, Greece, Oman, Russia, Japan and Korea.
Kingsgate Furniture has exhibited furniture at various exhibitions throughout the years from Koln in Germany to the more recent Decorex international where we won an award from BIDA for outstanding design on our Royal Chelsea Chesterfield.
Amica Magazine in Germany has also used one of our chairs in an article. Some of our furniture has also been featured in pictures in the Daily Mail.
At Kingsgate all of our furniture is made by hand here in our factory in Broadstairs, Kent, England.
We can make bespoke furniture to your own design or bench seating we also specialize in hotel and contract furniture and have produced furniture for The Sultanate of Oman’s Palace, Oman Navy, The Turkish Embassy, Cruise Liners, Gentleman’s clubs, Golf clubs, Spa’s, and high-end shops in Tokyo, to name a few.
At Kingsgate we only buy full hides of leather not splits or leather substitutes!
The choice is endless; it is like choosing paint. If you have a colour we will do our utmost to match it. You can send a sample of carpet, curtain material or even wallpaper and we will get a close match for you.
We have so many colours to choose from, but we only show you a small choice on our website to avoid confusion.

Leather types:
For a traditional antique look which has a two tone effect ideal on the Chesterfield style furniture
This leather is more suitable for a modern or contemporary look. The colour choice in this range is endless.
We use only the finest quality seasoned beech hardwood frames for our sofas and arm-chairs, hardly the cheapest option, but simply the best. The frames are the strength and backbone of any piece of furniture. For added strength all joints are glued, screwed and doweled with screwed corner strengthening blocks. For the furniture with show-wood we use a type of farmed Mahogany wood for its natural beauty and resilience.

All our standard foams including cushions are constructed from the latest high resilient, flame retardant foam, tested to British Standards.

You have a choice of different foam density, fibre, feather or for the extra luxurious touch feather & down cushions. All of our cushions have zipped covers, so that the cushions can be replaced at a later date
If you’re looking for the more traditional look we can also make our furniture with horse hair filling.
We use serpentine zigzag springs or coil sprung units, depending upon the individual furniture shape and the sitting position. We only use the finest materials from proven suppliers as the suspension is the "heart" of any piece of furniture, reliability is a high priority.
The buttons are attached as part of the upholstery process and tied by hand deep into the leather for that traditional classic look.
We do not use strip nails. Unlike our cheaper competitors we choose to individually stud all of our furniture by hand one by one.
Most pieces of our furniture can be made to fit you, so if something is too big or to small we can alter the sizes to suit you. It would be in your interest if you have the time to visit our factory where you can see the furniture in different stages of production being produced where you can also have some items made to fit your back with a special built in bolster we are here to help you and provide you with exactly what you want the choice is endless.

We are here to satisfy our customers and do not work on commission and we don’t have trained sales people selling you things you don’t want we are just people who have years of experience with furniture.
Our furniture is definitely not the cheapest but is purchased by people that want quality and something that will last for years to come.
As a sign of quality our frames have a 10 year guarantee against faulty manufacture from date of invoice all other materials are covered by a 2 year guarantee subject to fair wear and tear all customers will receive a guarantee certificate with there order.
If the customer is based within the South East of England we can deliver the furniture ourselves, however for customer further a field we can arrange for delivery with a carrier.
We can take orders for 1 piece to a full 20 or 40ft container we can arrange for shipping worldwide with full insurance.

The methods we are currently working on are.
25% deposit to be paid with placement of order and the balance to be paid 5 days before we dispatch the furniture we accept cheque credit card, Solo, Switch, MasterCard and Visa.
For export orders we also accept Bank transfer please contact us for our bank details.
All prices shown on our website are inclusive of VAT if you are exempt of tax please contact us and one of our sales team will be happy to help you.
Our standard dispatch times are 4-6 weeks from receipt of deposit however if you do need something quicker or for a special occasion please contact us and we will do our utmost for you.
